Who didn’t love Heat Miser and his brother Snow Miser? This is my all time favorite hands down.

December 15 – 5 Minutes
Imagine you will completely lose your memory of 2010 in five minutes. Set an alarm for five minutes and capture the things you most want to remember about 2010. (Author: Patti Digh)
Hummmm that is a tough one. But if I had to choose…I would say the things that I would most want to remember about 2010 is all the ordinary or everyday conversations I shared with my children. Remembering the funny things that they say like out past conversation here and how my little girl says “Hi babee” when I get home from work. Or those great talks we have right before going to bed. Yes, that is what I would want to remember about 2010…our talks.
December 14 – Appreciate
What’s the one thing you have come to appreciate most in the past year? How do you express gratitude for it? (Author: Victoria Klein)
The one thing that I have come to appreciate the most this past year is time. 2010 has been a tough year for those close to me as my loved ones have had to deal with what feel like a lot of death. It started with the death of my sister’s godfather on Christmas day 2009 and ended with the death of my grandmother’s dearest friend whom I have called my “aunt” my entire life. Both Sonny and Aunt Lucille were very dear to me and were instrumental in molding me into the woman who I have become. Losing them has made me reflect on the all the time that I have been so lucky to spend with them…all of the talks that we had…and the stories that they shared with me. The greatest gift that they shared with me…something that I will cherish for the rest of my life is the gift of their time.
My way of showing my gratitude of this amazing gift, is by giving others whom I love the gift of my time. It’s when I stop doing whatever I’m doing and fully engage with the other person. No mutli-tasking…no texting…no checking emails or facebook…it’s just them and me…spending time with each other.

As a mom of 3 you I am constantly entertained. Trust me when I tell you that I am entertained on a daily basis. Following is a conversation that took place this week with me and my two son’s.
Me: Stop scratching your butt, that’s nasty!
#2: I’m not scratching my butt, it’s my side…I think I have mono nucleus.
Me: Mono nucleus? You mean mononucleosis?
#2: Yeah…how do you get it?
Me: Well they call it the “kissing disease” so you can get it from kissing another person or drinking after someone.
#1: I thought the kissing disease was meningitis?
#2: No, I thought meningitis is what you get when you floss and it starts bleeding?
Me: {laughing} no that is gingivitis…

Courageous. Confident. Vital. A brave new color, for a brave new world. Let the bold spirit of Honeysuckle infuse you, lift you and carry you through the year. It’s a color for every day – with nothing “everyday” about it.”
I LIKE IT! Good job Pantone! Now it’s time to see how I can infuse this color in my events…decor…scrapbooking…clothes…everything!

I have been toying with the whole 365 photo project for a while now. This is where you take a picture of yourself everyday for 365 days. I’ve read about this project on several of the blogs that I visit and as much as I think it is a cool way to document “you” I never really thought that I could commit to it. I mean come on….we’re talking about 365 days…366 if we’re doing it during a leap year. Taking a photo of yourself….that’s well….that’s a lot. But what if someone took it one step further…let’s say someone took a picture of themselves everyday for 8 years! Yes, people, I’m talking roughly 2,920 photos of yourself! Well that is just what JK Keller did in his Living My Life Faster photo project. The coolest part of this project (at least in my eyes) is that he was able to show all 2,920 photo’s in a slide show that lasts approximately 1 minute and 43 seconds.
Now I don’t know if I could do a project like this…but then you never know…..

December 2 – Writing.
What do you do each day that doesn’t contribute to your writing — and can you eliminate it? (Author: Leo Babauta)
The one thing that I do each and every day without fail is procrastinate. Yep I said it…I am the master of doing non-important things in an effort to put off doing the inevitable. Why do I do it? Well I honestly don’t know. Part of it is habit and the other part…well it’s just…well I don’t know what it is. I wouldn’t call it being lazy, because eventually I do get around to doing it (writing that is) I just wait until the 11th hour to do it. Can I eliminate it (the procrastinating that is)? Of course I can and I should and I will as soon as I…. (LOL!)

Anyone who talks to me on a regular basis know that I am a HUGE follower of blogger/scrapbooker/designer/photographer/life artist Ali Edwards. I love her style of telling stories by using the simple formula of words + photos. Her philosophy for scrapbooking is simple – telling stories of everyday life (you know that small stuff) which is what I strive to capture in my scrapbooking. For the past few years that I have been following her, every December she works on a project called December Daily which is a scrapbook album project that documents the 25 days leading up to Christmas. I have always wanted to do this project Continue reading
