I have been blessed to have some amazing people in my life and Marlin @ Soul Support is one of them. Marlin is a dear friend/sorority sister/my “Shero”/confidant/ and cheerleader. She is “that” person who is always in your corner, encouraging you…rooting for you to go out and live your best life no matter what others may say or think. I first saw this video on her Facebook page and just had to post it on my blog today. Her voice is simply beautiful and the song….well the song is just what I needed to hear. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Loving how you randomly come up to me when I’m sitting down, squeeze my neck, kiss me on my lips and say “I love you”
Loving how you are into wearing glasses just like your mommy and daddy
Loving how you are finding your style and right now Dora the Explorer is the hot thing to you
Loving how you like to hang out and hit the streets with either mommy or daddy
Loving watching you grow and develop into such a beautiful and curious little girl
Loving that you are not afraid to try new things
Loving how much you love your two older brothers and loving how much they love and adore you
Loving that God chose me to be your mom and that I couldn’t have asked for a better daughter
Loving how much I love you!
A few months back, my aunt who works for a local TV station sent me some footage of my oldest when he was about 2 years old. Looking at this video brought a smile to my face…such great memories.
This in my opinion is a great commercial! This IS Detroit…and this is what we do!
I’ve been in a funk/cup half empty sort of mood for a few weeks which had me not really “feeling” like doing much of anything. I’m sure you can relate. Not sure what caused it…work…weather…up coming birthday…or it could be a combination of all three. Maybe it’s a midlife crisis…hummmm, I will have to Google “midlife crisis” to see what the symptoms are. All I know is that I’m tired of feeling this way…so it’s time to “snap” out of it! Today, I’m pulling out my 90 day mind map, planner and iPod so I can get laser focused and get back on track. I’m hoping that this is all it will take to get me out of this fog.
When you find yourself in a similar state of being…(funk/fog/pissy mood) what do you do to get yourself out of it?
Yesterday a package that I have been waiting for, what felt like forever finally arrived. I was going to wait and open it up this weekend…but I just couldn’t resist.
My Project Life kit by Becky Higgins finally arrived! Project Life was created by Becky Higgins and is a great way to tell your story. It’s scrapbooking without all the glue, stickers and die cuts (not that they are a bad thing). I wanted to buy this book last year, but every time I tried to buy it on Amazon, it was always sold out. But this year I was lucky.
I’m still trying to figure out how I will approach this project. Not really sure if I will try to do the photo a day approach or maybe focus on highlighting the month. There are a number of different ways you can use the album. My motto for this project is K.I.S.S. (keep it super simple!) My plan is to take the rest of the week and just think about it. This weekend I am planning on setting up the pages in the album…maybe the “how” I’m going to approach this project will come to me then. But if it doesn’t that is okay too. There is no rush to get it done…no right way to do it…and that is a good thing.
Right now, I’m just happy that it is here and excited to see what stories it will tell for the new year.
