While reading one of my favorite bloggers Ali Edwards blog on Tuesday, she posted that she was joining Dr. Brené Brown’s “protest of perfection”. Me…being the inquisitive person that I am thought it would be cool to check out Dr. Brown’s site and boy am I glad I did. Not only am I joining the protest…I’m also reading the book!
As I join the protest and learn to love myself and ALL of my imperfections, I leave you with this quote that Dr. Brown wrote for all that read her book and embark on this eye-opening journey:
“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy – the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” ~ excerpt taken from Dr. Brené Brown’s new book The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You’re Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are.
So here’s to the protest!

You ARE perfect!!!! Perfectly you!
Glad you are comfortable with you and even more glad that your MiniMe is starting her journey in life with such a great attitude!
Thanks Expressmom! I don’t know if I would call myself “perfect” however I would say that all of my imperfections fit who I am “perfectly”.
